Default Looking to buy, need opinions on a deal

Hey guys, havnt posted in a while but Ive been actively looking to replace my 04 Volvo S40 with an A4. Ive been wanting an Audi for quite some time and have finnaly cone to the point where I might be able to buy one.

I've driven some recently and every one Ive looked at has had some sort of problem. One had a huge dent in the bumper and lots of interior scratches, another had most of the rubber labeling on most of the buttons on the interior peeling away (looked like they used some hard chemicals to clean the inside), etc etc.

I recently came across one more but when I went to look at it there was one glaring issue. A 4-5" scratch and dent on the rear passenger side door. Looks like a shopping cart ran amuck. Im guessing the repair is going to be around 4 or 5 hundred bucks to fix, but im no bodyshop expert so maybe you guys would know better.

Here is a link to the car in question. Let me know if it looks like a good deal. Also remember that the car I have now is pretty nice and I can always keep looking (theres just nothing else available right now locally)

Sorry theres no closeup of the scratch, and you cant even tell its there in the shot.

Thanks a bunch!

Blue book is 17,775. But that's in perfect condition... So the price reflects the damage. I would be hesitant a couple reasons. One if the car has scratches and dings it shows the previous owner was probably not a careful witht the car as they should have been. Two with 78k your starting to get towards more costly repairs (I would find the service history to see what been done already.) Three, it's a automatic. It's personal preference, but I think manual is much more enjoyable. I can say however that you will probably enjoy the Audi much more than you ever enjoyed your Volvo. I made the switch over the summer and haven't regretted it once! Good luck

^^^ what he said

you dont know if the owner did the 5k full syn oil changes, you dont know if some common problems like coolant flange, CPs or others are near going bad, its also an automaticand its due for a expensive timing belt job if you cant DIY, it can range from $800-1200+

look around, find an ultrasport like mine, i found mine in mint condition two years ago for $24k, im sure you can buy them with 50k miles for less than $20k right now

Yeah the USP is the way to go.. I got mine in Aug. for like 22 from a dealer, so you should be able to do better if you gothe private party route. Also Papachristou is right on, you want those records to make sure it got the right oil. If it didn't you're probably gonna expirence sludge issues in the future
