Common repairs on the 1.8T
So, I just bought my first car and decided to go with the 1.8T. So far its fantastic and I cant complain at all. I have already upgraded my sound system, ttinting, and put in an APR chip.
I was wondering what the most common repairs on the 1.8T are and if its worth getting an extended warrenty. My car has about 90K miles, but it rides great. So, this is why I cant really see spending over 2 grand on a warrenty and then end up not needing it.
If anyone has any comments on the types of repairs they have had to do on their 1.8T Id really appreciate it.
Also,
Does anyone notice their 1.8T has a distinctly different sound than any other non-Audi they have been in? Mine kind of has a similar sound to a jet turbine. Im not sure if this is common or if its something I need to have looked at. The performance hasnt sufferred which is why Im not sure if this is normal or not.
Thanks for any help.

RE: Common repairs on the 1.8T
tie-rod ends (and sometimes control arms) give out. my car has about 60k on it and i'm having some problems with control arms these days.
it's also recommended to change the timing belt and everything else that goes with it around 80k. if your car hasn't that already replaced, that's a good pile of money going away.
other than that, the car runs fantastic!
