I just checked the maintenance records, and it was definitely the purge valve. Dealer charged $152.70 for parts and $40 labor. Replacing the purge valve will definitely solve your problem.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure I screwed something up when i disconnected the purge valve to change my air filter.

I'm under warranty for a few more months, so we'll see what the dealer says. I'll let you know how it goes.

 

Just posting the follow-up update.

Took it to the dealer. He filled it with gas, same problem occurred. He ran some diagnostic checks on it, and had no idea what was wrong. I suggested checking the purge valve. He checked it, and said it looked like it possibly wasn't working right. So he replaced it. Voila! Problem fixed.

I just still can't believe the audi dealership didn't know what the problem was until i suggested something. Gotta find me a new audi dealer to go to...

It is definitely a purge control valve issue. I had the same issue with my Audi a4 Quattro, and had to change it.
