my sunroof has been making some odd noises the past few weeks, when i open it its fine, but closing it it would make this like clunking sound like it wasn't lubricated. so, yeah, i put some regular household oil in it, and moved it around with a q-tip, and there were these red things that were coming up on the q-tip, so i looked under the track and i saw them in the chain or whatever it is so i assume that they're supposed to be there... so i close the sunroof to test it, and the clunking sound is gone, but now the motor sounds like its straining itself, and it stops halfway and goes back w/out help from me pushing it closed. any advice?

 

Grease the track with white lithium grease, not oil.
Try greasing it with the proper stuff, and it should smooth out for you.
