2012 2.0T Consuming Oil?
So I've read countless forums and its been beat to death that the 09, 10, and 11 2.0T had oil consumption issues. My question is, did they fix this issue after 2011 or is it an issue with newer models as well?
Now for the facts:
This past summer I bought a 2012 A5 with around 35K miles on it. In the first oil change or so we didn't have any issues burning oil, but recently I've been getting the add oil warning in the MMI and it is concerning considering I haven't read much about the issue post 2011.
I asked my mechanic (not Audi dealer) and he reassured me that the 2.0s regardless of year do burn oil, but considering I went 15k miles without having an issue and then all of a sudden have to add a quart of oil every 1k miles, something just doesn't seem right.
There are some caveats which make it difficult to ascertain what exactly may be the issue.
Around the time the oil consumption started happening, I had the 35k service work completed and an APR ECU upgrade done at the same time. Both of these were done at a non-Audi, but German car specific mechanics shop.
