2.8 Misfire help bank 1 only
I have a 2001 2.8 ATQ A6. Having a weird issue. Car runs rough at idle but runs perfectly above 1100 rpms or so. I have the following codes, p0300,p0301,p0302,p0303,p1340. So I have a misfire on cylinders 1-3. The misfire count at idle is about 50-80 at idle on cylinder 3 and 20-40 on cylinders 1 & 2. I tested the cam sensor on this bank and the reading was 4.91 volts with ignition on. The weird thing is my cam tensioner is bad on the drivers side (cylinders 4-6) If i leave the solenoid on the tensioner plugged in the chain hits the valve cover and makes noise above 2000 rpms. With it unplugged there is no noise. So I have the tensioner unplugged on bank 2 and I am getting these misfire codes and cam sensor code on bank 1? Any ideas? Timing belt was just done and is timed correctly. Also bank 1 the spark plugs wells were flooded with oil due to valve cover gasket when I bought the car.. Possible damaged wires?

i dunno if you have the same type of icms that the 2.7t does but that definately sounds like one of the icms. On the 2.7 they are located on top of the airbox. Each one is responsible for one bank. Try switching them. If the misfires switch.... theres your problem. Replace ICM make sure to put some dielectric drease under there.

As far as I know the 2.8's do know use a seperate ICM like the 2.7's do. On your 2.7 you have seperate coils for each cylinder, I have 3 coil "packs" and wires for the whole car. One coil pack for every 2 cylinders. There is and icm on the end of the coil packs but it is not seperate for bank 1. Possible the icm is bad causing a misfire in just those cylinders but unlikely. I'll check it out.
