Default 2000 A6 4.2 v8 ECU/Trans issue

so i bought this A6 from a kid real cheap said it needed a new transmission. so i start looking into the car investigating it, did a little research and a common problem is if you don't have the plastic trim piece under the hood on rite the cabin filter leaks into the car. the floor was wet. so i take out the seat lift up the carpet and the ECU is sitting in 4 inches of water. so i took it out, the whole little black box the computer sits in was filled with water. also it says press clutch to start, its an automatic lol.

so my question to you guys is could the kid of thought it needed a transmission because the computer got wet and was junk or do you think that it filled up with water from sitting and it's just another thing that's wrong with it, or could the whole transmission issue be from the bad ECU?

Any input or help would be much help and appreciated. This is my first Audi and I am trying to fix it without wasting money for no reason

attaching a pic of the ECU OPENED up

Thanks guys

Yep, could be the ECU. Contact Scotty at Advanced Auto, he can help you with a replacement.
