Default Small area of coolant in Garage

1st noticeably warmer day of spring, stuck in traffic for quite awhile ( Temp guage was normal at halfway, went a little over half once during commute. Woke up in morning pulled out of garage saw small pinkish area on garage floor.

Given that it was hotter then normal and stuck in traffic and this was the 1st time ( leaks were checked for before) is this normal for a little coolant to leak out considering that this is the first time it ever occured and sitting in traffic could this be the culprit.

2002 3.0 Quattro

Thanks guys for any help

Hey I had the same thing happen to me on the first 1-2 warm days this season. Sure enough we found that the coolant sensor went out. I replaced the sensor and the seal. Also I replaced the coolant reservoir mine was yellowish starting to crack. It is possible either one of those are leaking (the coolant sensor seal or the sensor it self). My leak sounds like yours as well it would be small amounts of coolant only when my car was sitting there for awhile (over night).

for my 2001 audi a6 2.7T it was 35 dollars for the sensor / seal and there is a black clip that comes with it that you may need it if breaks.

This sounds like my issue, but no overheating as of yet...I have an 02 4.2...where is the sensor located?
