OBDII scanners
I got one for Christmas....New Craftsman OBDII scanner.
When I got to hook it up it does not want to connect.
I know last time I took it to autozone one of their scanners was not able to connect too. they tried a smaller one they had there and it was able to connect.
Anyone else have this issue or come across this issue.
(yes I"m hooking the cable up to the car before turning the car on)
The scanner is for all OBDII cars.
Mine is a 99...so it should fall into that.
Thoughts?

It said for all vehicles 1996+....Trilangual. If you know the european code please post it as the actual manual states the different kinds.
I wonder if it's something that can be updated on their site too. I'll have to do some checking.
Here is the part number CRAFTSMAN
Item# 00987702000 Mfr. Model# 87702

Autozone's reads mine fine. Do you have an after-market radio in the car? When wired in certain ways, those can cause a problem, or so I read here before. My radio wiring harness has a couple of wires cut, and I think it might be related to that.
