Default luk repset clutch question

I've heard the luk repset clutches are decent, is this true? There is one on ebay for 200 bucks. There is also the valeo kit, is this better or worse? I am also planning on just scuffing up the fw, but possibly getting it resurfaced. I have read on here resurfacing the fw will make it run hotter and is possibly not the best idea? I am going to be running about 16-17 lbs on a mbc/diode, how long will one of these clutches last? I know people are going to tell me to get a tune and a southbend, and I would adore those parts, but I am a starving student, and my car is quattro with only 150 hp, feels so slow. Thanks for all the help guys!

Both clutch kits are decent. As far as getting your clutch cut , no can do if you have a dual mass flywheel. Replace only. If you are doing the clutch it is a good idea to do the flywheel also for they are prone to failure.
You might be able to find a standard flywheel replacement depending on your year & model.

Thanks for the reply! When you say clutch cut I assume you mean fw, what do you mean by standard fw? I thought all b5 came with dual mass?I read on here somewhere about someone just lightly sanding the glaze off there fw, is this possible? I am a college student who makes minimum wage and my car needs new struts, so every bit helps.

Then honestly, deal with the 150hp. Get your struts, and if your clutch isn't slipping, leave it alone and use the money for future repairs. They'll be needed soon enough. A boosted A4 is not a great car for a shoestring budget, and a modded boosted A4 is even worse. You're going to have enough things to spend money on without upping the boost on an untuned setup. That's just how it goes.
