Thats what the front looks like right now, I'll have to get some pictures of the rear. They also look a bit brighter in that photo than they really are.

I'm using 1 7" red LED bar from superbrightleds in each location, but I can't find what I'm using on their site anymore. The color is a perfect match though. I have the ambient lighting wired up to my funk switch.

Found it: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...ube.htm#photos

Thanks, this project has been a long somewhat thought out vision.

That blue you see is from the Osir shift ****. You can swap the LED out for red or blue. I'm using blue to provide a little contrast.

I was looking into replacing the ambient lighting with an RGB system, would be much cooler than just always having red.

Car looks great as usual. I really need to switch my boost gauge over to the center vent like yours. I don't like it over on the left anymore.

Thanks a lot. Yeah, I never liked them on the left, the center is perfect.

I called the previous owner last week to ask about when the timing belt was done, turns out it was done at 90k so I've got some time before I need to do mine again. I'm at 135,xxx right now. I linked him to this thread and his reaction to the car as it sits now was "Holy **** it looks amazing."

Always nice to hear that.

My shift boot used to be black with cream stitching, but it has since faded to a nice grey. I'm thinking about trying to use some stain to get it back to black or eventually buying a new one. Maybe fully cream with black stitching this time. I pussed out when I was buying this one and went with the conservative color combo.

Time to archive the past couple weeks work..

Now that I'm back from the Czech Republic and have started my 5th and final year at SFSU, I'm broke. The only things I can afford to do to my car right now are maintenance and super cheap mods.

I've been wanting a new look for the exterior and after doing a lot of research decided to try plasti dipping my wheels. I was initially going to go with matte white but decided to go with matte black. I had seen this look done on other A4s my color and never really liked it. However since it is so cheap and easily reversible I said why not.

I also went ahead and sprayed the coolant cap, PS fluid cap, washer fluid cap, and oil dip stick to clean out the extra colors.

In this burst of painting it seemed like a good time to paint the calipers red, especially now that the wheels are black.

Leaving me with this as the final result.

Since the wheels are matte black...why not the mirrors?
