Default Suspension update

I finally just got my v-maxx coilovers on my 01 1.8tq. I followed the diy and it wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be. I found that the fronts were world's easier than the backs mainly because I didn't have to do nearly as much...just unbolt and drop (with a little persuasion :-) ). I adjusted them to eliminate the wheel gap. I have 18" asa rims. After getting them on and driving around for a day or two, I am happy so far. The ride isn't bouncy and it handles much better. The ride height has lowered some..about a quarter inch or so, but that was to be expected as the whole set-up begins to settle. I will be posting pictures up here in a little bit but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who answered all my questions. Anybody else have success with the v-maxx coilovers? Oh yeah, I forgot to ask about camber correction. What is a good brand to buy?

I got my vmaxx about a month ago and like them. I bounce quite a bit but I dont mind! Whats your current fender to ground?

Except that I wish they were a little stiffer, I like mine. As for camber correction, you can either spend a TON of money on adjustable control arms or spend a ton of time messing with the angle of your upper control arms relative to the strut body. It's a big pain to mess with and will require a lot of time and trial & error.

How can messing with the angle do anything? They are meant to rotate on that axis, so how can that do anything?

The only thing that makes sense is that setting a different angle when the bolts are torqued creates a preload of sorts. It's something I came across on here and through a coworker who had to do his. Set them at one angle and torque them and the weight of the car causes them to move to a given position. Change the preload angle and when the car's weight bears down, they'll hold slightly differently, creating a different camber angle. That biasing of the arm angles is said to create the camber setting. The OEM spec is set with something like a 42 or 47 degree angle on the arms. Wish I knew more specifically but that's the best way I can think to make sense of it.

is the stiffness not adjustable? or is it only for adjusting the height?... if u have the money i say hold out for the megan racing coilovers when they get released

Thats probably what I'm going to be spending my money on. That is, if the adjustable dampening provides stiffer settings than the previous model. If it doesn't I might have to go H&R.
