[help] Car stalled on the highway, battery & alt. seem fine
Hello,
I was just drivin back home and my car just stalled on the highway. I was doing 70 MPH and the car slowly started to lose torque, almost as if the fuel had run out.
I managed to pull over to the side and had the car towed back home. When I try to start the car, the engine cranks, and then I let go of the ignition. I am certain that the battery is fine since the Horn, the radio and the lighting seem normal. I hear if something was wrong with the alternator, it would kill the battery (?)
Ran a VAG-COM check on the engine module and got the following 2 error codes:
17536 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Mult): System too lean
P1128 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded
17072 - ECM Power Relay Load Circuit: (J271): Open
P0688 - 004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent
I did some research and tried to see if the fuel pump fuse was blown, but its not.
As you can see, I am no pro so any and all help is really appreciated.

Try checking your fuel delivery. Someone just had that problem, their pump ran out on them. Just disconnect that hose in the fuel rails and put it in a small bottle to avoid spills, then open the key, you should have fuel going to it, if you don't is your filter or your pump.

Same story happened to me last week, but I didn't vagcom and had no codes. It was the fuel pump. Turn the key and listen for the pump priming. If nothing leave the key on and push in the schrader valve on the firewall side of the fuel rail. I used a torx bit to make sure I pushed it in all the way.
If no fuel replace the filter, try it again, and if still nothing replace the pump.
Let us know what's up.
