What's up everyone. I am in the market for a new daily driver/project car. I am deciding between an a4 1.8 or 2.0T. I really like everything about these cars except for the power out of the box. I definately want to build on this car but how much can I really gain until major problems start to occur. Are Audi parts really that much more expensive than say american car parts? The only other car I was thinking about was an SRT-4 but I really like the class of both car and people when it comes to Audi. Any advice would help alot. thanx.

 

I'd go for the 2.0T. Best engine in it's class every year since it was introduced. I love the engine and power..stock. If you get a chip and exhaust, you're looking at 0-60 in 5 seconds. All you need to make a beast out of the 2.0T is chip, front mount intercooler, exhaust, high pressure fuel pump. I spent thousands and thousands on my old American V8 to make it perform at it's peak. These come from the factory tweaked out but with a mild tune. Not many bottlenecks from the factory. That's why the aftermarket is pretty slim.
