I recently had an issue with my 6 disc changer in my 2009 Audi A4 Avant. It began playing a CD and then stopped and said something along the lines of "CD player damaged and therefore was deactivated? Has anyone else had this problem and if so is there a way to reset the system?

 

Furthermore, I tried doing a reset of the MMI,radio and CD player under settings but it did nothing. I also checked the CD Drive fuse. The fuse was still good and taking it out and putting it back in did not solve my problem either. There is also not a whole lot of information on this issue on the web so I may be S.O.L unless I take it to a dealer.

 

Have you thought of upgrading the radio? I got similar problem before, after tried differnet methods but still didn't fix it, so finally I simply replace it with a full touch screen aftermarket radio from seicane and it works perfectly now. it is not so expensive though as I thought before. Also, it did add other advanced features.

 

Had a similar issues, but I got a denson bluetooth adapter that user the wiring harness from the changer. Do not know if they make them for a more modern system.
