amps in the trunk left side mounted up top below speaker. and they started in 98' wit the amps
and the problem with the amp only running on am fm is a behind head unit missed wire connection that **** had me mad for 2 weeks in july

you can run an afterMARKET HU OFF THE BOSE but you have to hard wire it and sucks. yes even with the 600w amp you can.
and if you good you can retain the use of all 8 speakers. for awhile i was runnining oe amp and speakers with a 2400w leg and two 12' clifs till one day the oe bose caught fire in my trunk

NO NO NO NO

guys

he hooked the amp remote to the power antenna wire, not the power amp remote wire from the HU. You need the white/blue wire, not the blue wire from the HU! The blue wire is for a power antenna and in many HUs will indeed come on only with the radio tuner since you don't need an antenna for CD playing.

^^^^exactly. I was reading through to post this if someone didn't. On a HU with only one blue wire you tap into it. If you have two, you have to get the right one. The power antenna wire only gets power when the radio is on which as dragonrage said, is why the amp only works on am/fm.

Try them the other way around because you've obviously got a power antenna signal, unless your HU has settings that control with what inputs the remote wire will be active. Worth a shot, no?
