Airbag warning light - VAGcom codes
The airbag light has been on. Here is what VAGcom tells me:
Address 15: Airbags Labels: 8D0-959-655-AI7.lbl
Control Module Part Number: 8D0 959 655 M
Component and/or Version: Airbag 7 Audi 0502
Software Coding: 00104
Work Shop Code: WSC 06435
2 Faults Found:
01217 - Side Airbag Igniter; Driver Side (N199)
32-10 - Resistance too High - Intermittent
01218 - Side Airbag Igniter; Passenger Side (N200)
32-10 - Resistance too High - Intermittent
Does that point to a potential fix? Where should I start to check and troubleshoot?

Your under-seat connectors opened momentarily, causing the light to trip. The seats were likely moved too far back at one time, or you flopped down and "fat-assed" it (been there, done that). It's a common fault. Best fix is to zip-tie the connectors tightly and then resetting the light. Check my photo album on here - I have a pic of the connectors under the driver seat. The yellow ones are the ones you want.

After fighting the airbag codes for a while, I decided yesterday to try the 'cut it out' fix.
I cut out the yellow connector on passenger side and soldered/shrink tubed the matching wires (battery disconnected with radio code standing by). Scan after reconnect still showed both codes in VAGcom. Cleared codes and passenger side error is gone (for now?).
When car is back (college), will do the drive side as well. Hope to have a code free car for the first time since we bought it 3 years ago! Cross my fingers.
Note: I did NOT splice additional wire length in (2 more connections that can cause problems). The seat movement in my case is limited first by the length of the other wires/connectors.
