Buffing out paint/scatches
Well it finally happened, my girlfriend borrows my car for the first time grazed the side of the garage on her way out. sheesh.
Now there is a very small, but noticeable white scar on the rear fender of my a6. It doesnt seem to have penetrated the clear coat. And i can scratch it off with my finger nail - the white paint is kind of deposited on the car.
How can i get this off without damaging the paint?

get some rubbing compound, and rub it out. dont buy wax, polish or anything else that promises to remove swirls, scratches and whatever else. Its all B.S.
You want 3Ms rubbing compound.
Here, try this...

Make sure the area is wet before using the rubbling compound. It dilutes the compound and reduces scratching. The paint should come right off. Then apply wax.
She owes you big time. Lucky she didn't remove a mirror on the way out, too.

Yeah - she felt bad about it - very first time driving the car and now shes gunshy to drive it. I suppose it had to happen at one point or another. Thanks for the tips - i'll pickup some of that rubbing compound and take some before and afters.
