Default 1993 90 cs bad leak

audi is having a few issues i.e. leaving lovely puddles of oil everywhere I go. I've read this is a pretty common issue BUT my brother pointed out some thing that looked off where the oil was leaking from, you can see in one of the pics there is a bolt coming out of one side(passenger) and on the other side there is nothing in the hole. I know I sound stupid but WTF?! any help here would be great, I dont want this thing blowing up on me!!

Somebody tell me that's not a main bearing bolt or piston rod bolt sticking out the side of the oil pan!!
