1994 cabriolet electrical diagram or manual
I Have a 1994 (Model 80) convertible. I seem to have an electrical problem with my foolding roof. My mechanic has checked the electric motor amnd the hydrolic motor and the switch inside the car. So it appears to be an electrical problem. The main issue here is that the mechanic cannot find an electrical diagam for my particular model on any of his audi manuals. The VIN No. is
WAUZZZ8GZRA005016. Is anybody able to help me with any suggestion or where I might be able to get a manual or an electrical diagram.

Hello,
I happen to have both Repair manual for Audi Cabriolet from 1994 - original Audi book first edition, released 11/93. It covers body and electrical equipment (no wiring diagrams).
Second book is Electrical wiring diagrams book, covers m.y. 1996 and 1997, and it is also official Audi Service book.
Both books could be for sale, but I do preffer local Toronto transaction without shipping.

You have broken wires in the trunk lid where the wire bundle bends at the hinge. Split the bundles open and look, as well as feel, for broken wires. Splice in a repair. Done. That said, with the wiring diagram an auto electrician could start at the Convertible Top Control Module (under the back seat) and trace continuity of each wire from the connector to its' destination, confirming the broken wire. Big time investment in that. Another method is to us a VAG-COM (diagnostc computer) and go through the block values as you manually move the top. This will tell you which switch/component is not in the correct position - usually due, again, to a broken wire and failure of the convertible top control module to either send positioning instructions or to receive confirmation of correct switch position intelligence. Either way, your mechanic knows absolutely nothing about this system and how to troubleshoot it. For starters, he should know that he needs the Bentley's manual for the Cabriolet, about $100, wiring diagram included, and how to use a VAG-COM. Additionally, the Audi Service Training manual 221, The New Audi Cabriolet would be extremely helpful. This site is difficult to upload a detailed image or I would post the wiring diagram. Send me a private message.
