Default audi 5000 vent blower resistor ?

i've read about the resistors for the vent blower going bad, causing the blower motor to stop working. i've also heard that they can be replaced using radio shack parts, but i can't find any detailed information on where these resistors are located or how to access them.

i've already tried searching through the forums for the answer but the closest ones i've been able to find were on replacing the blower motor itself, not the resistors.

can anybody help? thanks.

whell ... getting to the blowermotr it sefl is lots of fun ... the resistors are most likely somewhere near the blower motror ... radioshack resistors could work ... your best solution is to get a Bently tepair manual .. so you could see a wiring diagram and have a proper fault check sequence so you could determine what exactly is causing the prob ... and I realy hope that you are not confusing the rad fan which also has resistors

thanks for the quick reply. i actually do have the bentley manual, but thought there might be a trick to it that's not outlined in there.

i did locate the information i was seeking regarding the climate control blower motor. it seems i may most likely have a bad (old/worn/tired) blower motor. it also seems the blower motor is not controlled by resistors, or at least not by user-servicable (nor replaceable) resistors.

here's more info for those interested in troubleshooting the climate control system;
