Hi,

Can anyone help with a soloution for the source of a rainwater leak. I currently have an Audi 80 1993 which has developed a rainwater leak. I have had a previous 80 that developed the exact same leak and I couldn't find the source then! The water appears through the gap between the glovebox and the door, open up the gove box and you can feel the water on top of the side air ducts. It runs down the side of the door and onto the carpet! It doesn't 'seem' to be the door but rather the windscreen but I really can't find it so can't fix it. As my last 80 had the same problem I'm guessing it is a common problem people will know about, can anyone help?

are you also loosing engine coolant by any chance ... if so then the heater core would be suspect

 

No, it is definitely only rainwater - it rains...water comes in, it stops raining....leaksoon stops. Could it be the seal around the windscreen? is this easilty replacable or should I just put a load of silicon sealant around it?
