Default audi delema

i have an audi right now it is a 1990 a8 quattro. this is the one with a v8. my question being is that this car has 110,000 miles on it and the transmission went out. i called audi and they said it would be 6500 to fix. then a neighbor, macanic, gave me a name of a friend of his. i called the shop and they said they could rebuild it for around 1800 and if it was real bad like a cracked or broken case it would be 2200. does this sound about right? also i am worried that if i fix it i might just have more problems with it. do you guys think i will. also if any one is intrested in taking it off my hands fell free to let me know. i will give you the name of the shop. they said it would come with a 3 yr. warrenty.

what do you guys think?

Hi, it s me again ;-).

A guy in Alberta wanted to buy mine but i asked to much, 1500$, so i lost the client ;-(. I dont have his email anymore.

Hegot his tranny rebuilted and putted it back for 2800$ total , + taxes i guess.

Add 1200$ to that 2800$ and you get another V8 100.000km on it... and ready for another 200.000km

It really depends how much you in love with your Audi V8.

Buy a V8 broken mmmmmm not a good idea unless it s almost free.

You engaged of hight cost car ....

I did it too, but i only wanted the engiene for a swap. There is the bargain. If you buy it to fix it ouffff ohhh my ask help to god and the Banks.

Those tranny are very hard to find and expenssive to rebuilt.

1800$ it s US $ and 2800 is cdn$ and far away with no specialist on Audi...

But here my friend manager do the job for 2200 to 2500$cdn depends of tranny price.

If i want a V8 Audi i ll buy it well maintain and very good working... never broken even almost ree. The total cost to fix them is to hight and ll overpass the cost of a good working. The only reason to fit a V8 its because you own it for a while and you love it, unless i would forget it.

I bought used bad working Audis cause i tought i ll save money , and rebuilt them and ooooo myyyy it cost more than buy a good working one

It s not GM cars , the V8 Audi 1991 was 70.000$ canadian$ new

So buy a used tranny , put it there (not complicated but it takes time) and enjoy the V8.

All parts left l be send to my friend manager at German garage. It ll happen before the summer. I need to clean the garage so if you want bargain its time, after i ll enjoy my V8 swap on my 90Q.

It s 230cdn$ to send the tranny across the Canada so to your town ll be less. I can calculate it for you.

Tell me your box or 'code postale' to tell whre you are to get estimation price for shipping.

Say 650$ US and its yours. I ll not get lower now.
