audi v8 quattro
does any one know if there is a strictly manual transmission that can directly bolt up to this platform. i know it comes with a automatic with manual features but how does that work. how many manual gears would come in it
also is there a different audi site that tells more about this specific vehicle

they made a few manuals, the first run of them was something like 1 of every 500, and the second run (late models) was something like 1 of every 100 i think? anyone feel free to chime in on the correction here. but odds are yes you will find autos, they have a switch that you can select E (econo) S (sport) or M (manual) sport and econo are about the same but it changes the shift point according to throttle input. most noticeable on down shifts. manual allows you to shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd to drive. problem with these cars is the fact that A LOT of parts are no longer available, i have been hearing a lot about autos failing due to the speed sensor going bad and that speed sensor is no longer available. as far as a manual swap your looking at a very expensive and rocky road.

i know i'm bringing a post up from the dead but to be fair i've been gone from computer access for a while :-(
any way yeah i love this car and have found one for sale but it's a automatic (ugh). So what other car would i be able to get a 5 speed trans out of to put in this beast?

Register and search at motorgeek.com this topic has been beat to death over there - many V8 auto/manual swaps with very detailed project threads that should basicly walk you thru the conversion.
Getting the transmission is the EASY part, from the donor car you also will need to cut out the trans tunnel and the pedal assembly.. again easy.
The hard part - is getting a flywheel and clutch. The flywheel and clutch alone will set you back almost $1000.00..

Good Luck!.
