Blown Head Gasket???
Looking at buying an Audi 90 that they can not figgure out.. They say that it is presurizing the coolant system and they don't know why.. I asked him if any work had been done previously to this and he said that someone jacked up the timing belt so they had to have the heads replaced.. I'm thinking that the head gasket either didnt seal good or it's blown??
Any thoughts on this?

RE: Blown Head Gasket???
did they blead the coolent system .if notit will build up pressure.the engine must be cold ,in fron part ofthe engine is runing one of the coolent pipes ,look to the right of the pipe (dr.site) you will see a scrue with headfor alen key. open it and pressur it until coolent comes out of it.tight start the engine ,open the heater insite the car and observ the gauge

RE: Blown Head Gasket???
dido ... the fan might not come on even if the system is not bled ... i just replaced a bad radiator on a coupe ... I believe they use a similar one (mine had a bleeder screw on top of the radiator) ... here is how i did it ... turn the heater on ran the car watch the temp gauge let the car run, heat up open the bleeder screw HOT HOT HOT use thick gloves, release all the pressure until coolant starts coming out as said before ... after it was bled the fan kicked in right away
