changing struts and cv boot
I was wondering if anyone had any tips on changing the rear strut inserts on a 1988 90 Q, like special tools you need and if you need to remove strut assembly from the vehicle, etc. I also need to change my front outer cv boot, what do you suggest the best/easiest/cheapest way to get the cv joint off the shaft?
THanks

also, easier way, as my father was doing is. take off the wheel, put a woden block under the arm at the bottom, lower the car, then put a lot of wire between spring wires very tight, and then raise the car again just a bit. and then take evrything apart. and able to take the spring off.
for the CV joints, its preaty easy. just go with outer granades by them self is easy, the whole axel is hard, take the stering arm off, turn the wheel by hand, and take off the CV out. you might need the CV joint extracrot, or really, really heavy hammer, also when doing that release the nut before you raise the car.
also if you doing that be carefull, lower the car onto a wooden block (lower arm to wooden arm). more tips, just PM or email, or AIM

Yes, I'll be replacing the rear strut inserts. I think I might need a special socket too, for the top nut and hex in the shaft.
THanks so much for your replies, I will give it a go.
