I have 2000 audi a4 1.8T quattro and I just lowered it 2 days ago. The problem i saw that both of my cv boots have ripped and im afraid that i will have to change the whole axle if i will not fix it soon. I just want to know if there is any good brands and if any one have done that or any diy? any pictures or comments will help! thanks!

Don't change the entire axle out - lately the Empi brand axles (aftermarket OEM replacement that is common out there) have been problematic. I actually have a set of them that are a year and a half old and have been fine but more recently a buddy of mine went through four of them which all failed in 25 miles or less. We took measurements and found the Empi axles to be a half inch shorter than they should be. This was pulling the joints and destriying them. You will need to R&R the joints though. I strongly advise you to look at the CV joint rebuild kits from www.blauparts.com. I've used them and they're easy to do, reasonably priced, and you reuse the factory axle. Best of all worlds.

check with your local dealer before ordering online. I found my boot kit just as cheap at the dealer when figuring shipping, and I got it immediately.

A boot kit is not the same thing and not what he needs. A boot kit is for when you notice that the boots are creased but not ripped. You replace them so that they don't rip and expose the joints to the elements. His are ripped already and who knows for how long? Therefore the joints should be rebuilt. A joint rebuild kit is a lot more comprehensive and since it's very likely that exposure to the outside world via the ripped boots has allowed the joints to be damaged, the rebuild is the way to go. It's significantly more money but better than chancing it with new boots and then suffering joint failure out on the road and paying for a tow plus the new joints.
