Default Ignition switch replacement

1995 90Q
I narrowed it down to the ignition switch. Going to replace this weekend. I hope that solves the mystery.
Along that line, can I change out the switch without tearing down the steering wheel and the dash? The manual is a little confusing. Anyone had any experience changing switch out? The electrical part only, not the keyed cylinder.

Thanks

Default RE: Ignition switch replacement

Take off the plastic around the steering wheel. Remove the screws for the instrument cluster. Remove the instrument cluster andeither disconnect the electrical connections or move it out of the way.It isn't held in all that tight and will work out if you are patient.Scratch off the sealant covering the two allen wrench set screws holding in the ignition switch and loosten/remove the set screws. Don't lose them. The electrical portionof the ignition switch will slide out. Disconnect the electrical connections from it. Install the new switch and reverse the procedure.
