Q7 Shifting issues
Hey everyone,
I have a 2007 Audi Q7 4.2 S-Line... Just bought it with engine light on, and worked that out with a MAF replacement. Engine appears to be perfect again. I am however, running into issues, directly after replacement of the MAF, with shifting problems. Is this just strange coincidence? Or can that be linked?
After MAF R&R and clearing codes, I drove it about 6 miles to run 3 errands- shut it off 3 different times. Each time I drove it, the issue got worse and worse to the point of not being sure if it was going to go into gear when 3 point turning it back into my garage.
The problem: It was downshifting into 1st & 2nd VERY abruptly, to the point of your voice jumping while talking. When it would shift into 2nd & even 3rd occasionally, it would also thump pretty hard into gear. By the time I got it home, it would delay shifting from D to R about 5 second, and drop into gear very hard... Kinda like when you park an automatic on a hill without the parking break, then try to drop it in gear. "THUMP". I haven't touched it since.
The kicker, is I just bought this car AS-IS and am screwed. It showed NO behaviors like this, until today. I just drove it home Thursday night and it sat until this morning.
Thoughts??
