Default 2.7t MCU compatiblity question.

Does anyone know if the MCU's are compatible between a 2000 S4 and a 2002 allroad? They both had the same engine 2.7t, but the part number on the MCU is different. I wouldn't bother asking, but a friend of mine had an S4 and purchased an MTM MCU for it. He later sold the S4 and kept the MCU. He is offering to sell his complete chipped MCU to me at a great price, but I don't think it will work.

Thoughts?

According to audi the ecu from the s4 has some kind of encryption that prevents it from being used in an a6, but I'm not sure if that is removed when it gets chipped.

It turns out that they are not compatible. I sent an email to Mike Hoppen @ www.hoppenmotorsport.com. The ECU is not compatible.

So it looks like it is up for sale. BTW According to Mike it is the older style encryption chip that is no longer compatible with the present MTM software so he couldn't reprogram it.
