I have a question about the 'red' low oil pressure light ... if I have low oil pressure, this light would come on by itself while I'm driving, correct?
It would not come on onlyduring a systems check after pressing the "check" button on the guage bezel while at idle or 3mph or less.

Yes, the light would come on wether your sitting still idling or driving, it would also beep. The button on the dash is just a check for all the warning lights.
