Default 2001 allroad..questions..

there is someone local that has a 2001 allroad for sale.. its cheap, like 5k (might take less) but here is my worries about it.. it has high mileage.. its at about 215k miles. it has newer turbos (replaced in 2007) new front airbags put in late last year)

i forgot to mention its the 6 cylinder version.. 2.7l i think with a the 5 speed auto.. should i even consider this car? ive read turbos go and are expensive, and the timing belt is another thing to worry about.. as far as that, im not really familiar with audis (mostly rx7s and dodges)

IMO, any German car that has made it to 215k and has regular maintenance is a good car at $5k. If not, it would have been weeded out of the gene pool long ago. With proper care this particular car could go 300-500k.

In my experience, the only Audis that ever have trouble are those that have been modified. I know a lot of Audi drivers with bone stock cars that have huge mileages on their cars, especially older A4s and A6s, with zero problems. Then I read these forums and hear nothing but problems. Interesting how the world works.

funpig's right; if it has been serviced on time and according to the book it should last years to come. Be sure the Service book has required entries and get it checked by an Auto Doctor. If it gets the all clear bill of health, go for it. Also true about DIY modifications causing early death for some/many cars, and not just Audis.
