2005 ar 2.7T BEL misfire cyl 2, 5
so, out of the blue (well, the motor was a little lumpy in a couple of spots, but it has 60K miles on it) i get a CEL flashing and I run my VAG COM and it gives me 'misfire cylinders 2 & 5'
whaddya think? coils? i had new plugs put in in oct so that's not likely the problem, maybe the coils are loose? both failing at once is odd, no?
btw, anyone have a 'how-to' on getting at the plugs and coils? i took the plastic covers off alright but then there is still a ton of plumbing...
car is at the dealer now, can't wait to find out what the problem is

thanks guys! waiting on the dealer's diagnosis now. if it's coil-packs i should replace them all, no? i think there was a bulletin to replace the older style with new ones?
UPDATE:
dealer diagnose ONLY cyl 5 misfire. NOT cyl 2.
VAG COM (mine) was:
16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire
P0300 - 35 - 00 - -
16689 - Cylinder 5: Misfire Detected
P0305 - 35 - 00 - -
16686 - Cylinder 2: Misfire Detected
P0302 - 35 - 00 - -
is my VAG COM wrong or will cyl 2's coil p[ack fail tomorrow?
lol... that old line about the problem disappearing when you go to the shop comes to mind

ignition control module
Hi did the misfires happen at the same time? if so switch the coilpacks around use working coilpacks on misfiring cylinders and vice versa. if the misfire moves then I would think it was the packs but since/if they went out at the same time i would suggest getting a new ignition control module your car has two of them if you have the 2.7t. they are located on the airbox and easy to install/ remove. try switching them and see if the misfire moves if, they do that could be the problem. let me know what happens. If you do replace them make sure you use the diode grease that comes with them if you dont they may blow out again.
