Default air bags and turbo Q's

Could anyone please tell me anything they know on the air suspension and turbo's on the allroad.

I am moving to the Allroad for the versatility (Surf boards and snowboards) from a jeep cherokee which gets horrible mileage. I am almost done closing in on a 2001 allroad. 84,500 miles, Automatic.

was curious, if and when, both the airbags and turbo's might need to be replaced. I heard from a few people that have owned Audi's that eventually they might need it, but its all new to me.

the car is/was owned by and older guy so im almost 90% sure the car has been driven conservatively, but ya never know.

any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

Which model is it?? 2.7T? or 4.2??

Either way, you will not be happy with Allroad's gas milage. Sure, it would get a little better gas mileage than a cherokee, but expect to see 13-16mpg inthe city and 20-24mpg on highway depends on how you drive. (I got 25.6mpgon highway driving 65mph)

Anyhow, I love the air suspension on AR and it helluva looks better than a cherokee.

I Had to replace both front air suspension bags at around 78,000 miles on my 01, also have a friend with one, who had to do both bags at 75,000. Expect to need to do this soon if they have not been replaced. Not sure about the Turbos, I sold the car and got an 05 4.2, never had to cross that bridge.

Ditto that. Honestly, you might want to consider an A4 wagon. It'll handle snow, ice and most conditions you'll encounter just fine with a hell of a lot better gas mileage.

I'm considering an A4 avant to replace my AR'cause of the SUV like mileage.

Damn Germans makin **** all expensive!

This may be a completely retarded Q, but again im new to this stuff... does the air bag act as a shock/spring, or are there sprigns as well? If not, can the air shocks, if ever go out, can all 4 corners of the car be replaced with actual springs, not air shocks or whatever?

Thanks all for being cool and answering questions and all, bad a$S of ya'll to do to help out others and what not

I paid just under $900 per bag replacement including labor. Pretty sure this is a good deal considering the dealer charges around $1400 per bag. I also had to replace three suspension arms at about $800 for all three. The bright side was the car drove like brand new once it was all done.
