2002 2.7T Allroad will not crank or turn over. the battery is good, fuses good, and the ignition switch in the steering column has been replaced. ECT is less than 4 months old. if the key is turned to the on position all the instrument dash lights up. all other electrical items work. when the key is turned to start nothing happens. the problem was that the car would not crank sometimes and if you turned the key off and back to start it would fire. then one day nothing and that is the situation now. of course the starter replacement/repair on this car is a train wreck. any advice is appreciated.

 

Update for this problem, the car will only start when in neutral. the foot/brake light clicks and then after several attemtps the car will start and run as normal
