Allroad Suspension Issues
Hello All, Does anyone have advice for a 2001 Allroad 2.7 with 140K milegae with these symptoms:
The orange Dash light indicating a suspension issue is constantly on, does not go off, dos not blink. The rear level is at one, but the front is bottomed out. The compressor runs but there is no lift to any corner.
History: 2 new airbags on the front in the last 6 months, one airbag in the rear drivers side has a slight leak (Holds for 3 days not driving, but not 4). I changed the battery and when I did I had to teach the car that the key was the correct one. Once I did that, the remote on the key would no longer work for lock/unlock and the warning light for the suspension came on and would not go off. However, at that time all four corners would raise and lower levels 1 - 4. I quit driving the car but made sure to start it every couple of days to keep all things functioning. I had to go of of town for a week and when I came back it was bottomed Out on all 4 corners. After starting the rear raised and lowered, the green lights inside indicated it was at each level (1-3) but the front would not move. Now it will not move, the rear will not deflate lower than level one, but the front is on the tires. It is and has been very cold here and so the care was parked in the garage in hopes that something was frozen but that has not changed anything. Could the problems be related to the new battery, or is my car sad And tired? Any suggestions would be very helpful, and thanks in advance.

Do you have a VAG-COM VCDS or something similar?
I think you could re-teach the suspension to behave if you had one, it worked for me.
The remote can be retrained also with the VCDS.
Get an authentic one and for a couple hundred $ you could do it yourself and probably cheaper than a mechanic.
Lots of info here on how to do it.
Of course you may have some air leaks, but it sounds like it's just the slow one in the rear.
