I have a 2004 allroad. I hit a very hard object right under the transmission which caused 1st gear to fail and start slipping. If I use the manual shift mode it does go into gear but still slips if I gun it so I gently accelerate until I can manually shift to second gear, then the transmission works normally until I stop again which forces it back into first. Until I either retire or fix the car does anyone know a way using vagcom or some other way to bypass first gear at least temporarily? I'm told a rebuild is going to cost over $5,0000. and nobody in my area will even touch it.
