hey, so basically i was drivin and felt somthin wierd when i put it into second, then i had trouble putting into third. so i slowed down and tried to put it back into second and couldn't do that. so moral of the story, i cant put it into first or second gear but can put it in gear from 3-6. anyone know anything?

 

Shift fork broke, or a synchronizer seized up on the main shaft. Either way the transmission has to be overhauled.

 

Make sure the shifter linkage is properly connected and bolts are tight

 

so i found out from the dealership that it was my synchro that was shot and since 1st and 2nd are on the same line, that'swhy i could not get into gear. thank god for warranties!!!

 

my friend couldnt get his scion into gear, when they took off the rubber boot, there was a beer bottle cap lodged in there
