Default engine oil

Just purchased 2001 all road and have questions about engine oil. Manual say that we should use 5W30 and mechanics are saying something else. Any ideas anyone?

Good synthetic. 0w-30 to 5w-40. I use Amsoil 5w-40 European Formula.

Hope the prior owner of your allroad put it on synthetic early, but probably not, they probably did the Audi free 10k dino oil changes.

Run Amsoil engine flush in it before the change.
