Default Engine power sucks, replaced MAF, didn't help - engine codes inside...

I replaced my MAF thinking that it would solve the problem because I was getting "Bank 1 Too Lean" type codes - research on this forum indicated that it was usually due to a bad MAF. I also had to replace my Engine Coolant Temp sensor, which went fine (after I got the right part).

Well, after replacing the MAF and ECT, I still get the following codes:

P1136 - System too lean in bank 1
P1565 - Idle Speed Control Throttle Position lower limit not attained
P0116 - Engine Coolant Temp.Circ Range/Performance

I cleared them today and we'll see what comes back, but since I replaced the MAF, is it likely that the first two codes are due to a vacuum leak?

Thanks a bunch.

Check for vacuum leaks.

+1 for a vac leak. A bad ICM will cause you to misfire like a **** and if anything you'd run rich from the unburt fuel.

I've never had to check for vacuum leaks before - any idea how I could do this? Just get a small spray bottle, fill it with water, and spray it around various hoses?

No just buy about 10 ft of vac line and replace all of them (the small braided ones.) Also check any L or S shaped hoses around the intake manifold carefuly.

Cool. I have a Hanyes book, but I can't find any pictures or installation guides for the vacuum lines. Any links? Couldn't find anything after searching a few pages of Google results.

Search here, there was a thread not long ago that showed where they all are. But all you really have to do is look under the hood. They are pretty obvious.

I searched the forum and couldn't find anything specific. I'm not the best with "obvious" repairs and like to have as much information as possible.

Thanks again.
