Default Front Axles

My CV boots are torn on both sides and have been quoted $600 to replace the axles. Apparently it's a wash to replace the axle or the boot. Anyway, how hard is it to remove these axles? has anyone here done it? Any advice is appreciatted.

Thanks,
Doug

Doug, are you are still w/o c/v boots?

I just did both outer boots on my 05 and it was actually very simple.
The pasanger side was a bit of a learning experince, it took me ~6 hours
The driverside was the second side I did and from wheels up to wheels down and clean up I had it done in under 2 hours!

I am putting together a allroad specific DIY but it is a few days out. If you have any questions feel free to PM me!
