Heated Seats
I just purchased a 2004 Allroad 4.2. The car came standard with the warm weather option package but not the cold weather package. Is it possible to get heated seats without going through a lot of $ and trouble or is it not even worth the effort?
Thank you.

In a word. No.
The seats are a couple of thousand each to replace. I got the seatback cover and heater element replaced in my allroad due to "burnout" spot. I asked why they spent 8 hours doing the cover replacement instead of just throwing in a new seat (ten minutes of bolting time). The service advisor told me a replacement drivers seat would cost them 2800 bucks. Ouch.

You can get heated seats installed both front and rear. We get this done for customers all the time. Cost is under $300 for 3 stage heating. The only catch is, your passenger front seat can not have the cushion heated, only the lumbar region. The airbag sensor gets in the way.
