Default Help, I have no menu button

2001 Allroad recently purchased used. Page 131 of the owner's manual shows a menu button in the center console behind the outside mirror controls. I don't have one. I have a cup holder there. What's up with that? How do I bring up the menu w/o it? Any help greatly appreciated.

TIA

I thought the same thing when I got my mine. The owners manual covers all allroad models with options. Some have the menu option and some don't. I don't have the menu option either. There are not many differences in the model options, most allroad's are alike except for the menu option and the Audi on-star thing, correct me if I wrong. That so called cup holder you have can also make a great cell phone holder too.

It does indeed.

So I don't have the menu option. Does that mean I can't change the console display? I find the constant calculating of the mpg a bit annoying.

Nice pic! Thanks.

No I haven't, but I've found the controls to be pretty intuitive so didn't have to consult the manual until I looked for menu, and it lead me astray. I'm betting those controls are covered in another section.

what do you mean by the buttons were intuitive - not requiring a rationalized thought process

what are/were you trying to do with the menu button?

Nope, no nav. i have an aftermarket one. The manual also shows thru the menu button you can set your mph limiters, etc.

So i can scroll thru them, just cant set them or adjust them (as far as i know) unless theres something i've missed.

All I wanted to do was change the display that was constantly calculating and showing mpg. That was TMI. I was able to do that with the buttons you pointed out, and in fact just removed the whole display so only the gears show. Much better! Others may feel different. That's why Audi gave us a choice.

By intuitive I just meant I could tell what most of the controls do w/o consulting the owners manual.

BTW, guess I'm not much of a partyer, I did undergrad in 7 semesters and grad school in 3.

well congratulations, what was your bachelors/masters?
i'm not that much of a partier, anymore at least, when i first went to school i was.

I figured that's what you meant by intuitive, ya know, cause i put that little smiley face to hint at the sarcasm. Which btw, I've noticed alotta people (not you) on these forums can give it, but aren't very good taking it, especially in some of the off topic threads, i didn't realize people operated on a one way street in here. oh well, enough with my mini rant.
