Wow... that's quite a bit of work. Our local dealership is going to be slammed. Got my notice yesterday.

It does sound like alot of work, Audi claims it takes several hours to complete. Basically you need to make an appointment at dealership, drop off car for a day with 1/4 tank of fuel or less.

Called Prestige Audi in Denver today. They knew about the recall and are fixing mine on Monday. Thanks for the post!

Got my notice yesterday, but I'm in no hurry to take it in. I don't like others touching my girl's nipple.

Post Fuel Tank Leak

My 2002 2.7 Pearl Sport A6, 6 spd had developed a fuel leak L/H side when filled up and dripped wet fuel om garage floor in addition to the fuel vapor smell. Both went away after 3 gallons were consumed. Then I got the recall notice and took her in to the dealer. After the "Fix", filled her up and no wetting on the floor, but still got the odor. Took her back to the dealer today (about 4 weeks later) and they called to tell me that the tank had a crack at the top and was not related to the roll over nipple recall, and therefor not under warrantee. The fix I was told was to replace the tank for $2883 plus tax. They had no explanation as to how the tank could have cracked and confirmed there was no other damage and no evidence of collision damage. Any one heard of this situation and any recommendations to challange AUDI?

I don't think there's any time limit. My dealership took care of it when I took it in for the 40k in Sept. I didn't ask, but they mentioned it and asked if I had less than 1/4 tank of gas. I was over 1/4 tank, but they said anything under 1/2 tank was doable.

I'm afraid to take my 02 Allroad in for this because I've worked at several dealerships and I'm scared to let anyone work on my car, ugh! Has anyone had this recall performed? Any opinions on good and/or bad experiences?

They fixed mine this year, but it appears to be a bad repair. Now, I am getting P0442 Small Evap Leak code and CEL. It needs to go back to the dealer AGAIN...
