Default Asking for help!!!How can I clear the "malfuction check" light of the engine?

My car is 2000 Audi A4-1.8T. Since got the awful snow last night, the engine malfunction check light was on when I started it. But it ‘s still driving normal (I drove for about 200miles today). Can I clear the “check ’ signal and see if they come back? How can I clear it?
many many thanks!

do you live next to an auto parts store? if so they usually rent out scanner tools so that you can clear the code yourself.

I got the fault codes:
P0301: the PCM has determined that a misfire has occurred in cylinder #1;
P0303: the PCM has determined that a misfire has occurred in cylinder #3;

Also, the Engine Check Light went off after the scanning. Does that mean I don’t need to do some repair right now?

Thanks a lot.

First off, post in the right forum. You probably saw "Engine/Performance Parts", but it's a sub forum of the Classifieds section. Go back to the forum index by clicking www.audiforums.com and go to either General Tech or Audi A4 forums for help. I will warn you though.. SEARCH before you ask questions. In cases where you get codes, just put the code (example: p0301) into the search and read. Because it's very likely someone else had the same problem. So search before you ask a question.

Second, never ignore a code. If it doesn't come back awesome, but I would definitely try to find out what caused it to save yourself a bigger headache in the future.
