Don't you have that messed up? 1996-99.5, I BELIEVE are all nDBW, then in 2000 they turned into DBW which is electronic. Why would a chip that is for 96-99 be for DBW cars? Someone please correct me if I am wrong, and while your at it tell me that this chip will work with my car! lol

 

IĀ“ve been doing some research about the topic, and found out something important, my ECU will work in your car, i read about a guy that did the exact same thing and worked ok. Anyway, lets see if someone else have an opinion.

 

WHY THE HELL DID THIS SELL FOR SOOOO MUCH???!!! I hope whoever boughtthis realizes that you can get your ECU chipped by GIAC for $500 and some local dealers may do it for even less. Whatever...

 

Whats your problem??? the guy bought an ECU and a Chip, i think is agood price. Its the only way to keep your ECU stock and have a chipped onetoo. And also, he can resell it at anytime.

 

This was the highest price a Chipped ECU has ever sold for on ebay(I've been watching for about a year now). I've never seen them go for more than $400-$450 if its a really good one.
Reasons this one sold for so much
GIAC sticker on ECU - gives people a nice fuzzy fealing
Very nice looking listing - very pro - trustworthy
It was in a tiptronic - not that many on ebay are from a tip
people (including myself) think there should be no difference between a manual or tiptronic engine ECU
but if you ask AWE or APR they say that the programing is different. I know they are most likely just saying this.
