Hey guys, I have a 2001.5 A4, my brother just recently gave me his system that was in his truck (good brother huh? lol). Anyways, i also currently own a Pioneer Premier headunit thats currently uninstalled. The system includes 2 10" MTX subs powered by a Kicker amp, the subs are 200 watts each and the amp is a 400 RMS watt amp, so it balances it out perfectly. I'm going to be buying an 8 gauge wiring kit here pretty soon so i can run the wires in the car.
My questions are, how complicated is it to hook this system up? I will most likely have a local audio shop install the headunit, but i will be makign the box for the subs and install the subs. Ive made boxes and hooked up systems before on a couple of my friends stereo's, but never a german made car. Is there anything i should be aware of before going in there?

good idea of having a stereo shop install the head unit. Was a pain trying to figure out how to wire up a sony xav-w1 double din in-dash in my ride. But after a couple hours of research got it working properly.

it's pretty easy. You will need a harness adaptor and antenna amp adaptor.

If your car has a Bose system, then you have a factory amp. You are better off repalcing the deck and still being able to use the factory amp. Installing the decj is very easy to do, so don't worry about it. Just make sure you get the harness adaptors from any place the sells car stereo stuff, like Crutchfield. No matter what, don't cut the factory wires.
