Bentley manual refers to this tool as "T40040 Camshaft adjuster gauge" and "T40026 Locking Pin". It is the tool you apply to both camshafts prior to removing the timing belt in order to keep the cams in proper timing, and, includes the locking pin that keeps the main crankshaft locked in proper timing. This tool is for use on timing belt jobs for an Audi A6 3.0L (AVK) 2002 (and other years, check your manual).
