Default advice on mailing wheel/tire combos

Ive got a set of BBS wheels/goodyear tires for sale on here. What service is best for mailing these? Ive looked at UPS and the USPS. The wheels have the tires on them and weigh 48 lbs each. They measure 25 across and 11 deep. The girl at UPS said it would be $50 a wheel with no packaging and they cannot be insured that way so no guarantee. If they package it, the cost would be a crazy $250 for a box with 2 wheels in it and thats not including about $35 in charges for the box and packaging. they could be insured though.
USPS shows a cost of $32.51 using parcel post with insurance, but thats not including boxing/packaging. Im not sure what that would cost.
Anyone out there done this recently and have an idea of what we should do?

Also looking at perhaps taking off the tires and just mailing the wheels. I dont have any tools or know how to take off tires. Anyone know what a fair price would be to have it done somewhere?

Try GreyhoundXpress, they should be cheaper. I would take the tires off, and ship just the wheels if you do decide to ship because it will be cheaper. It should be about 10-15 bucks to take each tire off. But honestly if i was you i wouldnt deal with shipping wheels cuz its pita. Sell locally!
