Default Should I have my OEM wheel hubs milled out???

So, kind of a long drawn out story... Got an '09 B8 A4 2.0T Quattro in May last year, with Pirelli P7's on the sport 18" Wheels. P7's are NOT M+S rated (i.e. A/S), so I knew I would need a set of proper winters.

Ordered a set of 18" R8 Replica wheels from OEWHEELSLLC.com. Did a ton of research about the offset, bolt pattern, etc. Thought I'd be good to go. Turns out the O9 (B8) hub size is 66.5mm, while the B7 and previous was 57mm. Unfortunately, I found this out AFTER i had my shop mount the winters on my new wheels, so I couldn't return them.

I'm now left with my summer Pirelli's in my garage, with a set of new wheels that won't fit without having them milled out. The dealership recommended a shop in North York that would do it for $80 a piece. I'm concerned about whether this is safe and/or recommended. I could always try to sell the wheels and get a new set that DO fit, but I really like these ones, and they were a really good price, so I'm leaning towards getting them milled out to fit the hubs.

Any thoughts at all would be appreciated... I've basically got until March/April to make a decision since I've got my snows on the stock 18's, but thought I'd be proactive with my research now.

For what it's worth (not too related), got a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4's for snows... They're in the Performance Snow category... I had previously (on my 03 Jetta GLI VR6) a set of Michelin X-ICE (Studless Ice & Snow). For what it's worth, the X-ICE were simply a much better snow tire for Ice and deep snow. So far, I've noticed quite a bit of ABS intervention on the Pilot in just a dusting of snow, and there's hardly as much lateral stability. It's very easy to induce oversteer with just a blip of throttle around very slow corners. B8 Quattro is permanent 60/40 rear traction, and while there's definitely more torque available, the tires can't cope with it as well as the X-ICE. I'll likely choose a better snow tire and sacrifice dry pavement performance next time. Oh well. Live and learn!!!
